The horrific Grenfell Tower fire was a shocking tragedy that will be imprinted in the memories of Londoners for years. Not just because it was Britain’s worst fire in a century, but because it was all preventable. It was a systemic failure of government housing policies, austerity, and a chronic underfunding of local housing authorities preventing them from maintaining standards of health and safety. This documentary aims to relive the event through the accounts of the survivors, and discuss the many causes of this catastrophic incident, the handling of the fire and its aftermath by the authorities, and the deep social divisions between the rich and the poor highlighted as a direct result of the incident.
